  • Oxygen Plant each set up in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bhadohi & Lucknow

Lucknow, August 18th, 2021: HDFC Bank today announced to install four oxygen plants in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bhadohi and Lucknow to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh under its flagship CSR programme Parivartan.

Mr. Akhilesh Kumar Roy, Branch Banking Head, HDFC Bank led a delegation to meet and apprise Chief Minister Shri. Yogi Adityanath about the Bank’s different initiatives including setting up of oxygen plants under Parivartan in the state.

The oxygen plants will make hospitals self-sufficient in handling critical cases requiring oxygen support and eliminate dependence on cryogenic tankers to transport oxygen from far off places. The bank spent a total of Rs. 3 crore to install the plants in four vibrant cities of the state.

Apart from providing scholarships to students impacted by COVID, and training youth, farmers and women in different vocations, the Bank has now extended its humble contribution to strengthen CM Yogi Adityanathji’s preparedness for a possible third wave of COVID.”

#Parivartan works towards holistic social development by supporting initiatives targeted at Rural Development, Promote Education, Skill Training and Livelihood Enhancement, Healthcare & Hygiene, and Financial Literacy and Inclusion

In 2020-21, Parivartan benefited over 1.26 crore people in Uttar Pradesh. The bank reached out to 156 villages across 18 districts- Barabanki, Firozabad, Badaun, Bulandshahr, Faizabad, Gonda, Sitapur, Sultanpur, Pilibhit, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Varanasi, Fatehpur, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Lalitpur, Pratapgarh and Bahraich. #Parivartan aims at mainstreaming economically & socially-challenged groups across the country by ushering growth, development and empowerment. HDFC Bank spent ₹634.91 crore through #Parivartan nationally and emerged as one of India’s largest CSR spender in 2020-21. This was 18.5% more than previous year.
