Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is an ever-present name in the world of digital payments. Backed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), UPI allows you to make payments without the need for the receiver’s bank details. You can send money using their UPI ID or a mobile number. To authenticate the transaction, you must enter a four- or six-digit UPI PIN. You can set up your UPI PIN in two ways: via Debit Card or via Aadhaar-OTP. In this article, you can get information on how to get a UPI PIN without a Debit Card.

How to Create UPI PIN Without Debit Card?


Here’s how you can set up a UPI PIN for your bank account:

  1. Install any UPI-enabled app, like PayZapp, on your smartphone.

  2. Add your bank account/accounts.

  3. Select the option to set UPI PIN for your bank account.

  4. The app will ask you to select the setting of PIN via Debit Card or Aadhaar.

  5. Select ‘Aadhaar’ and provide consent.

  6. Validate your Aadhaar by entering the first six digits of your Aadhaar number and confirm.

  7. Next, enter the OTP received on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.

  8. Enter the OTP received from the bank.

  9. On the next page, you will be prompted to create a new UPI PIN.

  10. Re-enter the OTP and confirm.

Now you have successfully created a UPI PIN for your bank account.

How to Change UPI PIN Without Debit Card?


You can also reset your UPI without a Debit Card. Here’s how:

  1. Log into your UPI-app like PayZapp.

  2. Go to ‘Accounts & Cards’.

  3. Select UPI Accounts.

  4. Choose a bank account for which you need to change your PIN.

  5. Select the ‘Change UPI PIN’ option.

  6. Enter your existing UPI PIN.

  7. Enter the new UPI PIN and then re-enter the new UPI PIN.

Now your new UPI PIN is set.

How to Reset Forgotten UPI PIN Without Debit Card?


Note that if you have forgotten your UPI PIN, you must enter your Debit Card details to reset the PIN. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Log into your preferred UPI app.

  2. Head to the accounts section and select the bank account for which you need to reset the PIN.

  3. You’ll be prompted to enter the last six digits of the Debit Card linked to the bank account along with the card expiry date.

  4. Enter the OTP sent via SMS by your bank.

  5. Next, enter the new UPI PIN. Re-enter the UPI PIN.
