Withdrawal of ₹2000 Denomination Banknotes from Circulation, Continues as Legal Tender

We have an important update regarding the withdrawal of ₹2000 denomination banknotes from circulation, as per the RBI guidelines (RBI/2023-24/32 DCM(Plg) No. S-236/10.27.00/2023-24) dated May 19, 2023. Here's what you need to know:

For All Customers:

  • Continuity of Usage: You can continue to use ₹2000 banknotes for your transactions and accept them as a mode of payment.

  • Exchange Facility: From May 23, 2023, an exchange facility with a daily limit of ₹20,000/-will be available. This exchange facility will not attract any charges. 

  • Availability: The facility for depositing into accounts and exchanging ₹2000 banknotes will be accessible at all HDFC Bank branches until September 30, 2023.



For HDFC Bank Account Holders:

  • Hassle-free Deposits to Account: You can conveniently deposit ₹2000 banknotes in any HDFC Bank branch, without any limit, directly into your bank account until September 30, 2023.
